Methodology
How we rank AI tools
The criteria behind every Ads & Assets ranking, and how we keep prices and plans current.
01
What we cover
Ads & Assets ranks and explains AI tools for product photos, static ads, video and UGC, brand characters and styles, and the workflows that connect them.
Every ranking starts from a job a team needs done, such as turning one product photo into a set of ad variants.
02
How we choose tools
For each job we look at the tools teams are likely to consider: the established names, newer tools that have shipped something relevant, and cheaper options that still do the job.
A tool earns a place by fitting the job. If it doesn’t, we leave it out, however well known it is.
03
What we look at
We weigh four things, in roughly this order:
a.
Output: how good the results are for the specific job, judged from the tool’s own examples and documentation and from independent reviews.
b.
Real cost: the price of the plan a team would need, counting credits, seats and commercial use.
c.
Limits: resolution, length, export formats and anything else that blocks a job partway through.
d.
Fit: how well the tool works with approvals, batch production and the other tools a team already uses.
04
Prices and plans
We list the price of the cheapest plan that allows commercial use, since that’s the lowest price a business can use the tool at. Where a tool sells credits, we say what a typical job uses, based on the tool’s published credit rates.
Prices change often, so check the tool’s own site before you buy. Each article shows when it was last updated.
05
Corrections and updates
When a price, plan or feature changes, we update the article and its date.
